![]() Unlike VW parts! The only way you can tell it's not standard is by the twin pipes out the back. It's now much easier to service as well and parts are cheap. I can't say the fitting was easy but it was straightforward, and it does drop in very well and looks as if it's always been there. Economy is fantastic as we fitted LPG at the same time! This now gives economy of equivalent of 35mpg with the performance of a modern van. I need the 3.9 diff as advertised as an option in the official VW original sales brochure if anyone has one for sale, as the van was only a non turbo diesel and therefore had something like a 4.9:1 in, I think which just doesn't make best use of the power and torque (138hp and 200ft/lb torque). ![]() Cruising is not as relaxed as it should be though due to the rear axle ratio. I also have an original 1979 LT van I bought new and is part of the family and is still in showroom condition. ![]() I'll take some pics and post them if I can work out how! I can squeeze just about any engine into any vehicle, but computers are just far too difficult for me! I did it because I love these vans. ![]()
